The International Endodontic Journal is published monthly and strives to publish original articles of the highest quality to disseminate scientific and clinical knowledge; all manuscripts are subjected to peer review. Original scientific articles are published in the areas of biomedical science, applied materials science, bioengineering, epidemiology and social science relevant to endodontic disease and its management, and to the restoration of root-treated teeth. In addition, review articles, reports of clinical cases, book reviews, summaries and abstracts of scientific meetings and news items are accepted.
The International Endodontic Journal is essential reading for general dental practitioners, specialist endodontists, research, scientists and dental teachers. The Journal is covered by ASCA, Current Contents and Science Citation Index.
The on-line site (www.blackwellpublishing.com/iej) provides comprehensive information on the IEJ for readers, authors, library and IT professionals and potential advertisers. It is also available on-line via the Blackwell Publishing ‘Synergy’ facility (see www.blackwell-synergy.com and then under Medicine and then Dentistry). The advantages of the Synergy facility include:
Vast content of high quality: Blackwell Synergy holds the online versions of articles published in the world’s leading scholarly and professional journals. These articles include primary research, surveys, editorials, comments, and book reviews written by leading authors, academics and practitioners. The majority of the articles are peer-reviewed, highly cited, and are published on behalf of international societies and associations working in the fields of medicine, science, social science and the humanities.
Brilliant research tool: In addition to the articles themselves, Blackwell Synergy offers a range of features designed to improve the quality of research time. These include search functionality helping readers to find relevant articles more quickly, and linking functionality helping readers to make connections between related literatures more easily.
Many articles in Full-Text HTML, as well as PDF format: Full-Text HTML has the added benefit of easing on-screen reading, having embedded references, figures, and tables, and allowing full-text searching. Reference lists include links to cited and citing articles:
Regularly updated links to related literature help improve the quality of research time:
• Forward links to other articles that cite this article take readers forward in time through the literature.
- CrossRef links take readers to cited articles in other journals.
- Reference, keyword and author links take readers to abstracts in relevant databases, such as PubMed (MEDLINE) and ISI Web of Science.
- Synergy links take readers to cited articles in other issues of their journal.
- JSTOR links take readers to the journal’s back volumes, where available.
OnlineEarly - articles online before print: Fully finished, peer-reviewed articles are available online before the print issue is published, enabling readers to access information faster. Available for selected journals as part of a premium subscription.
Full-text searching: Readers can use simple or advanced Boolean parameters to search the full-text of articles in one journal, in a subject cluster, or across all journals to find the exact research they’re looking for. Search results can then be narrowed down and refined.
Saved searches: Registered users can save their search criteria to run again at a later date. When the search is run again, new articles matching the search criteria will appear at the top of the results.
Search alerts keep you up to date with the latest research in your field: Request to have an email alert when new articles matching your search criteria are published. This may include articles by a particular author, or articles matching your keywords.
QuickLink - one click wonder: Go directly to one particular journal, volume, issue or page reference with a single click.
Journals clustered by subject: Readers can browse through journals in a subject cluster. For example, click on ‘Life and Physical Sciences’ to see all journals in ‘Ecology’. Alternatively you can see all the journals available in the A to Z list.
Reference manager: Download article citation references directly into your own reference management software, such as EndNote, BibTex, ProCite or Medlars.
Email Tables of Content Alerts: Keep up to date with the latest tables of content for chosen journals emailed to you direct, and then click straight through to the abstracts or full-text article from the email link.
Customized homepage with favorite journals and articles: Registered users can set the Blackwell Synergy homepage default to show their own favorite journals and articles first.
Free abstracts and tables of content: Browsing and searching all journal tables of content and abstracts is free for all users of the site.
Free sample issues: Every journal includes a free sample issue accessible to registered users.
Free back volumes: Several journals include back volumes freely available for all users. These may be free between 6 months and 24 months since publication.
Single article sales: If you are not a subscriber you can buy any single article using your credit card. You will get immediate online access to the article and the receipt will be emailed to you directly.
Links to more information on journal homepages: Click on any Journal Homepage link to find out more about the journal’s editorial board, aims and scope, submissions details, and subscription information.
The subscription includes both printed copies of the journal and full access to the journal online. |
